ABOUT ANNA RICHTER TAYLOR
Anna Richter Taylor specializes in tackling complex issues, helping clients quickly identify clear objectives, and developing effective strategies and messages to deliver on those objectives. A diligent student of the executive branch, and legislative and local government regulatory process, Anna enjoys working at the cross-section of communications, policy, and politics.
Anna started her career in Washington, D.C., during the Clinton Administration, then honed her communications, policy, and political skills serving as a Senior Advisor and Communications Director for Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski through his second term. In these roles, she developed expertise in federal and state government policies, budget development and regulatory processes, among other organizational and operational functions of state government.
She also had the privilege to travel throughout Oregon regularly with Governor Kulongoski, which informed her appreciation of the diverse communities across the state and the importance of local leadership in helping solve the big issues facing Oregon. It also gave her experience working with elected leaders and media statewide.
Prior to establishing ART Public Affairs (her initials and nickname in the political world), Anna worked for a regional firm to gain experience in the private sector, primarily with business clients with regulatory or legislative needs. This experience provided Anna the opportunity to couple her background in politics and government with helping businesses navigate solutions in a collaborative way in areas ranging from energy, health care, education, business development, litigation support, and environmental regulations, including legislative and ballot measure strategy.
Anna can also manage a crisis, or help mitigate one. She asks the right questions and brings a fresh yet seasoned perspective to deliver solutions on complicated, sensitive, or high profile issues.
A native of Georgia, Anna has lived in Oregon for more than 20 years. She loves problem-solving for her clients, but she also prioritizes the job of mom to her two kids, Thomas and Elizabeth, ages 15 and 9. They live in Portland and can most often be tracked down at a soccer field, futsal court, or gymnastics arena.
